About us
Thrive Feeding and Development was established to bring thoughtful and holistic assessment, clear clinical reasoning and practical, evidence-backed support to babies, children and the families who care for them.
At the centre of it is Robyn Foo — a clinician, educator and advocate who believes that families deserve time, context and a clear explanation of what comes next.

Robyn Foo
Robyn Foo is an experienced Speech-Language Therapist, certified Lactation Consultant, and the Director of Thrive Feeding & Development. She is also a mum to two young children.
With more than 20 years of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Therapist at Singapore General Hospital, Robyn has worked across neonatal and paediatric feeding, communication and early communication development.
Clinical experience
Applying evidence-backed approaches, Robyn has supported babies across a broad range of concerns such as bottle, breast and oral feeding; swallowing and feeding coordination; introduction and progression of solids; and premature and neonatal feeding.
She is also experienced in helping children and their families navigate feeding difficulties and aversion, tube-weaning and tethered oral ties. Her work is grounded in understanding the child in front of her and the context around each family.
Robyn earned her Master of Speech-Language Pathology from La Trobe University, Australia, and is a member of the Allied Health Professions Council.
Clinical education
Alongside clinical work, Robyn is a part-time lecturer with the Singapore Institute of Technology, teaching professional issues and paediatric feeding modules across Years 2 through 4.
She has spoken on and presented at conferences in Singapore, Spain and Australia on preterm and infant feeding and the role of speech therapists in healthcare. Robyn was President of Speech and Language Therapy Singapore and a member of the curriculum committee established by the Ministry of Health to develop Singapore’s first undergraduate programme for speech therapy.
She also holds a Master’s in Health Professions Education from the University of Maastricht, Netherlands.
The work behind the work
Particularly close to Robyn’s heart is the work she has done with babies, children and multidisciplinary teams at Singapore General Hospital.
Implemented developmental care for high risk infants
Implemented the outpatient follow-up programme for infants with complex beginnings requiring feeding help to support these infants and their families on their feeding journey to become thriving, happy eaters.
Advocated for breastfeeding and oral ties assessment
Alongside getting certified as an IBCLC, Robyn started breastfeeding and tongue-tie assessments as part of speech therapy feeding assessments. She also initiated feeding and tongue-tie assessment, management and education across the Speech Therapy team and multidisciplinary team.
Spearheaded infant feeding protocol
Spearheaded the creation and implementation of an evidence-based infant feeding protocol for the SGH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in 2011, supporting standardised feeding progression criteria for babies born 33+6 and below. The protocol was revised in 2026 with a multidisciplinary team.
Established SGH-NDCS collaboration
Engaged the National Dental Centre Singapore to co-create clinical guidelines and a tongue-tie workflow to guide assessment and management for infants and children with possible tongue ties.
